Occupational health care

Occupational health care is defined as all health care services provided and covered by the employer to their employees. Statutory preventive occupational health care helps to prevent and avoid work-related health risks, hazards, illnesses and occupational diseases. Other health care services offered by the employer, such as medical care, supports and promotes health and the work capacity.

Occupational health care complements national health care work. It takes into account the individual types of work and work conditions of the government departments and agencies. It is also an integral part of government human resources management and development. Occupational health care fosters the health and welfare of the most important resource and thus the success of each organisation in a changing world.
